64 UPTU College Close their Course as no Candidate available for Admission : TOI News

On 24th June 2015, 64 college affiliate to UPTU from 7 district that is Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Kanpur, Varanasi and Lucknow got NOC that is no objection certificate to close different professional course in their campus like MBA, MCA and B.Tech. The reason behind for closure of these course is that their was no candidates in these courses.

"Our college had been running BTech in automobile engineering for the last 10 years but it never picked up momentum. There were only two students in the last batch," said an official of Sarvottam Institute, Noida Extension.

In Gautam Budh Nagar, MCA has been closed in Vishveshwarya Institute of Technology and IILM Academy of Higher Learning. Galgotias Institute of Management and Technology has cut down the number of seats in MCA from 120 to 60.

GNIT Management School and DIT School of Business have closed their MBA courses.

IIMT College of Engineering has closed MTech (computer science) and MTech (electronics and communication engineering). The JRE Group of Institutions has shut BTech (applied electronics and instrumentation), while JSS Academy of Technical Education has shut BTech (manufacturing and technology) and halved the seats from 120 to 60 in BTech (Instrumentation and Control).

There are around 600 colleges affiliated to UPTU. , which offer different UG and PG courses. UPTU's entrance examination has drawn poor response over the past many years. This year, 1,40,156 students qualified for nearly 1,40,000 BTech seats and 8,726 students qualified for 40,000 available seats in MBA programmes. A total of 3,366 students have qualified for 9,215 seats in MCA programmes in affiliated colleges through UPSEE 2015.
