Clashing with engineering entrance, UP B.Ed exam postponed to April 23




Almost four Lakh students are going to appear for B.Ed Examinations in UP (Uttar Pradesh) this year. But, the date at which the exam has been decided to be held will be postponed due to clashing of Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination(UPSEE) on the same date.

Clashing with the state engineering entrance (SE) test, the Bachelor of Education (BEd) entrance examination is now postponed till April 23 instead of April 20. 

Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has scheduled the exam on April 20. But also UPSEE is conducted by the university every year for the admission to Engineering and Management institutions affiliated to UPTU. The step, said officials at Bundelkhand University, which will conduct BEd - JEE 2014, is to ensure maximum candidates appear for the BEd examinations. The university has also set up a helpline to answer queries of candidates related to examination.



Coordinator, BEd 2014 Prof OP Kandari informed that a 15-member core committee has been constituted for the smooth conduct of the BEd entrance examination. For candidates willing to appear for the test, the submission of online forms would begin from February 25 at various centres across the state.

In UP, more than 1,000 additional BEd colleges have got recognition from National Council for Teachers' Education (NCTE). In addition, there are over 1100 BEd colleges already existing in the state.
