Branch change rules in MTU, GBTU (during counselling and after 1st year)

The candidates who have participated in UPSEE counselling can now change their branch in first year itself, if they have not taken their favorite branch.

The important thing is that the candidates will be allowed to change the branch in the same category in which it is allotted to them. They can avail this rule after the declaration of results of choice locking on 23rd of July.

This rule will act in accordance with MTU ordinance 8.1.1. This will act at the colleges level itself. The seats will be transferred to the candidates if and only if there are vacant seats in the branch to be transferred and according to the merit list. In it, the rules and regulations of AICTE will also be applied.

Only 25% of the students of a branch can be transferred to another branch. The seats in left over branch should not be less than 75% of the intake.

RULE WILL ACT AS FOLLOWS:

If a candidate is not getting his desired branch in the good colleges, then he need not to be hurry about. He should take admission in that college. The branch can be transferred before the enrollment of first year after taking admission. If he is not getting the chance, the student can also apply in second year of his study. Thus, a candidate can now have two chances of changing his branch.

THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE IN SHIFTS:

In MTU there are certain colleges which also regulates second shift. There is not any provision of transferring the shifts(from Morning to Evening or from Evening to Morning). The students will have to study in their own shifts.
